Card Ladder Sales History is the most complete database of sports card sales in the world. The database includes deep amounts of information such as seller feedback, images, listing type and even today's estimated value.
Searching the sales history is the most important feature of Card Ladder so we have spent a lot of resources on making the search experience the best in the industry. Whether you're making deals at a show or figuring out how much to pay for your next grail, you need to be able to find sales of cards quickly and accurately.
This guide will walk you through ways to improve your search results by using the power of Card Ladder queries.
Background
First read through the 12 Rules for Writing Search Queries to understand all the technical aspects of the query language that we support.
Synonyms
To make things easier on you we have automatically included several groups of synonyms where if you search one of the terms you will get matching results from other terms in the group. Here is the list of synonyms we have.
Typos
Card Ladder also allows for typos in your queries. This is turned off by default and can be enabled on your Account page on web and Settings page on mobile.
Here are some examples of how typos are allowed.
- Changing a character (box → fox)
- Removing a character (black → lack)
- Inserting a character (sic → sick)
- Transposing two adjacent characters (act → cat)
Secret Advanced Mode
If you are confident in your query writing abilities and you don't want us to fix your typos or help you with synonyms just place a "!" character anywhere in the query and that tells our technology to let you do it alone.
For example if you search "Nikola Jovic" it will return results for "Nikola Jokic" as well since that could be seen as a possible typo. But if you search "!Nikola Jovic" you will only get those exact matches.
Search by Cert #
Inside ther search box there's a small # symbol. If you click that it will open a dialog where you can paste your cert # and select the grading company. Then we will return all the graded sales results of that card.
Filters
Another way to improve your results is using our filters. Each filter is explained below.
- Min/Max Price - Limit results that sold within this price window
- Min/Max Date - Limit results that sold within this time window
- Platform(s) - Limit results to the marketplace in which the cards were sold (PWCC, eBay, etc)
- Listing Type - Best Offer, Auction, Fixed Price
